As the holidays approach, purchasing a gift for an individual with dementia can become difficult. Please be sure to keep in mind where the individual is living as to what type of gifts will be appropriate. If they are in a facility be sure to ask the staff there what is best.

1. Electric coffee or tea pots that turn off after a short period of time
2. Large desk calendars to mount on the wall
3. Medication holders—with timer to indicate time to take
4. Photo albums with names and dates next to each picture
5. Registration in the Medic Alert®/Safe Return Program®
6. Simple-to-manage clothing (tube socks, easy on sweatshirts,
tennis shoes with Velcro closings)
7. Gift certificates for hair cuts and manicures
8. Older music (especially music from the 30’s and 40’s)
9. Tapes of sermons or church services

11. Tickets to take them to a musical event or circus

Home Care Services
Services are provided from 6 hours a week to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We serve Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx and Manhattan.

Hourly Weekday/Weekend Care
A professional caregiver will visit the home from 3 hours a day to a full 8-hour day. The minimum is 6 hours per week. You decide on the days and times and we appoint a caregiver that is available for your preferred schedule. All services provided are in accordance with your customized care plan. Overnight Care
A professional caregiver will stay for a 12-hour shift beginning in the evening and ending in the morning. Services include dinner preparation, help getting ready for bed, overnight assistance and supervision, help getting up and ready in the morning, and breakfast preparation. All services provided are in accordance with your customized care plan. Overnight care is ideal for the person who gets up during the night and is at risk for falls, becomes disoriented at night, and/or has dementia and requires supervision. Live-in Weekday/Weekend Care
A professional caregiver stays in the home 24-hours a day. In a 7-day live-in situation, 2 professional caregivers share the week. Live-in care includes around-the-clock assistance with activities of daily living such as meal preparation, household chores, bathing and dressing supervision, medication reminders, and oversight of the person's well being. Live-in caregivers share in the household food and typically have their own separate sleeping quarters. Live-in care is ideal for the person who is at risk for falls in the home, who has moderate dementia, and/or is recovering from a hospitalization. Schedule a free in-home consultation!
